FAQs

  • Recognized certifying agencies include, but are not limited to: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC), Small Business Administration (SBA), SupplierGATEWAY Enhanced Digital Certification (EDC), System for Award Management (SAM), Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

  • You can set buying policies to “Prefer diverse sellers” who hold select certifications. Once configured, these policies automatically mark qualifying sellers as "Organization preferred" in search results, making it easier for your buyers to identify and purchase from diverse businesses.

  • Amazon Business simplifies finding diverse suppliers through three key features. First, our buying policies automatically highlight certified diverse sellers as "Organization preferred" in search results. Second, you can filter search results by ownership and diversity certifications to quickly identify offers from diverse sellers. Third, you can review diversity certifications uploaded by sellers directly within the marketplace. These tools streamline the process of incorporating diverse businesses into your supply chain.

  • Amazon Business reduces visibility of offers when their prices are significantly higher than other sellers’ prices for the same product. Enabling our “Prefer diverse sellers” policy also allows you to set a price preference by only applying the policy if the price is within 5%, 10% or 20% of the most competitive offer for the same product. This allows your organization to balance supporting diverse businesses with cost management.

  • Amazon Business provides detailed measurement tools through Amazon Business Analytics. You can create customized, downloadable reports that filter purchases by seller certifications, track total spend with small and diverse businesses, and measure progress toward your supplier diversity goals. These insights help demonstrate your organization's commitment to support compliance reporting requirements, and identify opportunities to expand your diverse supplier base.
